The success of many American
businesses has influenced entrepreneurs all over the
world. Now,
even theme parks are being built in similar fashion to
the famous Disneyworld resort in other nations.
In Dubai, Dubailand is going to be one of the
largest amusement parks of all time.
The idea behind Dubailand is
greatly influenced by the structure of Disneyworld. The American amusement park is divided into several different
“worlds”, or theme parks.
The same will be true of Dubailand.
Instead of Disneyworld’s Magic Kingdom and
Epcot Center, Dubailand will offer areas like Dinosaur
World, an animatronic theme park featuring the
prehistoric creatures, and the Arabian Theme Park, an
equestrian center.
In place of Disneyworld’s Space
Mountain, you’ll find an incredible indoor mountain,
called Snow World, where an entire ski resort has been
built in the middle of the desert.
With real snow and an ambient 32-degree (F)
temperature, the resort will even offer a black diamond
trail.
Disneyworld is a vacation
destination for tens of thousands of families and groups
every year. As
the Dubai economy becomes ever more dependent upon
tourism, Dubailand is certain to aid in the rise of
tourism to the Middle East.
The largest of many enormous project undertakings
in Dubai right now, Dubailand is destined to change the
face of the desert for the world.
Just as Disneyworld has created a
set of standard expectations for a theme park, Dubailand,
which will be much larger overall, will set the new
precedent for amusement parks in the future.
Dubailand will also include the Mall of Arabia,
staking the claim of the largest mall in the world, and
several other theme parks like Aviation World, Motor
Racing World, and Pharaohs’ Theme Park.
Several five-star hotels, a sports complex, a
water amusement park, an artificial rainforest, and a
modern art gallery will round out the major projects
related to the building of Dubailand.
Disneyworld, for decades the mecca
of vacation spots, may be outshined by the new structure
upon its completion.
Though it remains to be seen what will happen to
tourism in Dubai, it is certain that Dubailand will be a
major topic of conversation for years to come.
