Dubai is set to become the next big
vacation destination.
With several of the biggest attractions projected
to open over the next three to four years (including an
underwater hotel, a man-made island resort, and three
new enormous malls), Dubai, located in the United Arab
Emirates, has much to offer the frequent traveler who is
looking for a new place to add to his or her must-see
list.
The Mall of Arabia is one of these
attractions. The
mall will be a part of the new Dubailand theme park, the
Emirates’ version of Disney World.
The Mall of Arabia, however, will be much more
than just a mall. The
City of Arabia will also be a part of the huge
structure.
The City of Arabia will be located
in towers adjacent to the shopping complex and house
luxury apartments.
The entire structure will consist of 35 towers,
each between 45 and 70 stories high.
An air-conditioned train will carry tenants of
the City of Arabia directly into the mall, assuring that
they need not ever step out into the heat of the desert
surrounding them. This
also makes for an assured audience for the mall, which
is quite necessary with three other malls set to open
prior to the completion of the City of Arabia and Mall
of Arabia (which isn’t slated for completion until
2008).
Aiding in the assurance that the
City of Arabia will be a popular living area is that the
land on which it is to be built is already worth a hefty
sum because the development of the land was guaranteed
prior to its sell (which is a slightly different format
than is typically the case for projects in Dubai).
The City of Arabia will also
connect to a huge dinosaur themepark by way of the Mall
of Arabia. In
fact the only access to the themepark is through the
mall, guaranteeing that tourists must walk through the
commercial area in order to visit the animatronic
attraction.
